there is literally?? no reason?? at all, according to any of their character arcs or previously established set up for anything, that kairi should not have been in kh3d for more than two seconds
1) she has a keyblade. you can’t tell me riku forgot he handed her one (as, implied?? by the secret ending?? when he brings her to yen sid??) and even if she didn’t go for training…
2) she’s (established to be) sora and riku’s best friend. if donald and goofy got to sit on the mark of mastery exam, because they’re some of sora’s other best friends, then kairi should’ve been allowed to, too
3) sora and riku, as well as i’m aware, were under the assumption the exam would be Completely Harmless, or at least, wasn’t going to hold a huge threat in the name of xehanort. “it’s too dangerous to come, kairi” is not a fucking excuse (and thank god they never actually said it)
4) sora expressed multiple times, at least thru kh1, that he wanted to show kairi all the different worlds?? yen sid’s isn’t as fancy as a place to go as others but, “yeah kairi we’re going to a different world and i’d love to show you some other worlds but nah now’s not the time” doesn’t, really, fly?? w/ me??
5) THYE DON’T EVEN, LIKE, GIVE YOU A REASON!!! AS TO WHY SHE DIDN’T COME!!! IT’S JUST ASSUMED THAT IT’S ~OKAY~ NEITHER SORA NOR RIKU SAID “NAH WE THOUGHT IT’D BE DANGEROUS” OR ANY OTHER SORT OF, EXPLANATION (I CAN’T EVEN COME UP W/ ANOTHER FAKE ONE LMAO) AS TO WHY SHE DIDN’T COME WITH, AS TO WHY THEY DECIDED TO LEAVE HER BEHIND

I come back from the grave to wonder why DDD gets so much shit while 2 gets so much love while being just as bad in all regards storywise
I’m really, really worried about a friend of mine. I, just, don’t know how to contact them but their handle here is pigeonjunior and I know this is stepping out of bounds for me but I’m seriously worried for their safety and well being right now and I don’t know what to do.
